Island Exploration

[ As promised, there are three ships which have been chartered at the appropriate docks, each awaiting their passengers.

The Dragon of Islay is docked in Sorcery, as one might expect, headed for the supposed 'Demon Island'. Her crew, a thoroughly medieval looking bunch of men, are a bit smelly and more than a touch ragged, but they're the only ones willing to take the trip, considering the name. The crew is a bit crusty, without a doubt, but all of them seem to appreciate that they're not the ones who'll actually be going ashore to investigate the place.

The Lady's Promise is docked in Romance, a thoroughly modern little ship that resembles a small cruiser more than anything. The captain, a dashing man in semi-navy looking garb, keeps smiling and winking at people as he makes his way around and checks in with people. When folks get there, they'll be assured quite firmly that the meals on this journey will be top notch. He would know. He hired the chef right out from one of the top spots in the City. Not the top spot, but a great place, nonetheless. The Isle of Harmony is their destination, of course.

The Lucky Dollar is your ship out of the the City of Tomorrow, and it's not so much docked as floating slightly. The weather around the City makes true air travel a bit dicey when it comes to the islands, but keeping the vessel at water level means they ought to be fine. The man who will apparently 'captaining' this trip seems more like an amusement park attendant than a real captain, but he assures you that you'll get there without incident and that you can use your CALL Device to summon him back when you're done. And hopefully you'll enjoy your time in the Land of Brass or whatever. He's almost beat his best score in Bejeweled, after all, and he has to keep his eye on the important things. ]

[OOC: The ships are ready! To start a voyage, tag into the appropriate thread with your party. You can do this separately (like tagging into an open post), or as a single thread while the group goes through the experience. Once you've completed your voyage, put 'WE'RE HERE' into the subject line of the appropriate post. At that point, an island post will be put up with more details, linked to that last post. So until you arrive, all you've got are the clues and information given to you by the mapmakers on what you might find there.]

[A nod in understanding. Hey, it's not like there's anything much better on the ship to go for, so Peter is fine with his hands where they are.] Me neither. I mean, I've flown above it, ships? Just ferries, nothing like this.

[He knows, logically, that he's not going to fall off. Hell, the ship could turn upside down and he would still be able to stick to the deck with his feet. But anxiety didn't operate on logic.]

Yeah no this is...wow. Breathtaking. [He's stood at the top of skyscrapers, grown accustomed to the swooping feeling in his stomach. He's still not prepared for this.] I've never flown in a plane. [Webslinging didn't really count.]

Planes aren't that exciting.

[A shrug. In fact he used to hate them, until he got to fly on a metal eagle. Then planes became just another machine - one he needs to learn to avoid if he ever plans to do more of that special, sorcery flying.]

There are flying cars in Tomorrow is the sky is the next thing you want to go for.

I didn't think a boat would be, either, and yet.

[Yeah, unusual modes of transportation were their own brand of incredible, one you tended to take for granted after a while.]

I don't have a driver's license. Guess I'd have to take a cab. Do they have those, you think?

[A chuckle.] I guess it depends on the view, huh?

[He's surprised to hear the guy doesn't have a license. He sounds American like Dave, and you're usually expected to have one by this age.]

Flying cabs, yeah, but they take the quick route. If you want to enjoy the city landscape, then go for some of those flying bus tours.
