Island Exploration
[ As promised, there are three ships which have been chartered at the appropriate docks, each awaiting their passengers.
The Dragon of Islay is docked in Sorcery, as one might expect, headed for the supposed 'Demon Island'. Her crew, a thoroughly medieval looking bunch of men, are a bit smelly and more than a touch ragged, but they're the only ones willing to take the trip, considering the name. The crew is a bit crusty, without a doubt, but all of them seem to appreciate that they're not the ones who'll actually be going ashore to investigate the place.
The Lady's Promise is docked in Romance, a thoroughly modern little ship that resembles a small cruiser more than anything. The captain, a dashing man in semi-navy looking garb, keeps smiling and winking at people as he makes his way around and checks in with people. When folks get there, they'll be assured quite firmly that the meals on this journey will be top notch. He would know. He hired the chef right out from one of the top spots in the City. Not the top spot, but a great place, nonetheless. The Isle of Harmony is their destination, of course.
The Lucky Dollar is your ship out of the the City of Tomorrow, and it's not so much docked as floating slightly. The weather around the City makes true air travel a bit dicey when it comes to the islands, but keeping the vessel at water level means they ought to be fine. The man who will apparently 'captaining' this trip seems more like an amusement park attendant than a real captain, but he assures you that you'll get there without incident and that you can use your CALL Device to summon him back when you're done. And hopefully you'll enjoy your time in the Land of Brass or whatever. He's almost beat his best score in Bejeweled, after all, and he has to keep his eye on the important things. ]
[OOC: The ships are ready! To start a voyage, tag into the appropriate thread with your party. You can do this separately (like tagging into an open post), or as a single thread while the group goes through the experience. Once you've completed your voyage, put 'WE'RE HERE' into the subject line of the appropriate post. At that point, an island post will be put up with more details, linked to that last post. So until you arrive, all you've got are the clues and information given to you by the mapmakers on what you might find there.]

[ She knows I'm a flying, super-strong alien already... isn't exactly the tack he wants to take ]
She probably thinks I'm just making up stories and going to Metropolis or something.
[ He huffs out a breath. ]
But I can't bring anything home anyway. My parents don't know, and I don't want to draw any undue attention to our farm anyway.
I'm mostly going because they asked and I figure having a map helps everyone.

So you wouldn't bring her if you could? Because man, I'm dying to bring Becky. [He looks at the sea ahead of them, "lovefool" written all over his face.] I can't, we've already tried.
[A young boy trying to help - he sounds brave and needing a purpose, Dave just hopes he will have a better supernatural experience than his own. He won't blame him for not wanting attention, he knows the feeling.]
There should be some way to help without being so flashy and-- [Squinting his eyes now.] Is that the island? Look, that mound over there-- [He points. They're still a bit far but something on the water is definitely starting to appear.] This thing is fast.

I'd love to, I mean... it's super cool? But, um, we're not really dating and it'd almost be like cheating, you know? Like... trying to impress her with a cool car or something.
[ But then he's looking because-- ]
Oh yeah, I think it is!

[Everything is pretty mumbled, since he's now wondering if that's the card he pulled on Becky. Can't be, can it?
Oh, whatever. The island is waiting for them, better concentrate on that than on guilty thoughts.
He nudges Clark before starting to walk away.] Come on, let's get ready for this.

I guess I'm being silly.
[ But he shakes it off as well as he leans up to look off the side of the boat, eyes wide. ]
Wow, it looks... really pretty. Like... like an amusement park or something.

[He does speak from personal experience. Flying is cozy and romantic, yep.]
It sure looks... shiny?
no subject
...I'm seeing that too. Even with my eyes.

Yeah, definitely brass. Like...
Everything brass.

[He thought big cities were made of metal like the metaphor says, not this tiny island being so literal.]
This is gonna be interesting. Ready to go?
no subject
Everything everything. And yeah, I'm... I'm ready to go.
