As well-versed as Doctor Thoris was in quantum anomalies and the manipulation of the Ninth Ray to achieve a strange kind of bi-location, she'd never quite figured out how to actually be in two places at once. Which meant, standing on the plaza in front of McAran Tower, trying to decide whether to explore the Satellite first or whether to dive into the Library at the Science Academy. Or getting something to eat. Exploring on an empty stomach was never a good plan.

So you might run into her marveling at the selection of things one can put on a bagel.

Or you might discover her exploring the stacks at the Academy library, struggling to carry a large armload of books.

Or you might find her staring wide-eyed with wonder out the viewing ports watching the wide variety of ships arriving and departing from the docking ring on the Satellite. (Or y'know, poking around the reactor room, because dangerous science is the best science of all!)
