Bitty's first [TRANSPORT] >> On the Satellite

WHO: Clark Kent and whoever decides to join him
WHAT: Someone's decided to press the button...
WHERE: the Satellite
WHEN: when he's SUPPOSED to have gone to bed
WARNINGS: nothing yet, but if you'd like a starter, just poke on [plurk.com profile] ashurbadaktu!

He was supposed to be going to bed, but it hadn't seemed like he could be anything but amped since he'd gotten the strange device. People seemed relatively nice, honestly, and the idea of a place with aliens, other aliens who might know about him and where he'd come from, well... the lure was strong. That's why, after a quick discussion with someone offering him a drink, of all things, he'd finally ended up pressing the button...

And he was very glad that he'd kept his day clothes on. Because wooooooooooooooow. This was... this was like being in Metropolis, only more. Or what he imagined it'd be like. It took everything he had not to start floating out of pure interest, the urge to fly between the skyscrapers and along with some of the air vehicles nearly too strong. But he kept his feet on the ground and, upon noticing that the font for the device matched the one on the building in front of him, headed inside. The lady at the front desk was pretty helpful, honestly, but the second she'd mentioned the Satellite, he'd been back to thinking heavy thoughts just to keep from lifting off again. The wait for the shuttle had been agonizing, enough that he'd almost considered just trying to fly up for himself before he realized how ridiculous that was, until finally finally he was there.

And it was amazing. He had to school himself to typical teenage stoicism since he didn't want to stick out too badly, but every so often, that mask slipped. This was awesome. Now all he had to do was see if any of the tech around here matched the rocket that'd brought him to Earth. Maybe he could find his people...

[His name is Clark, he's sixteen, and he's just arrived on the Satellite. Truthfully, Loki could have found him with far less to go on, but that wouldn't be nearly as fun as appearing right beside him, a smoothie cup full of something violently pink in hand.]

Hello, Clark. I'm Loki. Pleased to meet you.

[personal profile] story_and_teller 2016-05-05 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[...that's adorable. Loki's keeping this one. She'll have to tell Loki.]

Did I startle you?
story_and_teller: (chintap)

[personal profile] story_and_teller 2016-05-05 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm... I think yes. [Not one ounce of shame or repentance in this one.]

[personal profile] story_and_teller 2016-05-05 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I might. That depends; do you really think you can't manage it yourself?

[Kids and power-incontinence: two things that forever go together.]

[personal profile] story_and_teller 2016-05-05 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't exactly mean to startle you.

Teleportation is just faster! And I'm hardly the only one around here.

[She offers the smoothie cup with a grin.]

Here, it's still perfectly cold; you gotta tell me how it is, since I don't usually mix things up without copious quantities of booze or coffee.

[personal profile] story_and_teller 2016-05-06 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[It is, in fact, fruity and sweet, as promised. Colder than water ice, too, and just lightly fizzy. There's grenadine in there, and crushed frozen strawberries, and fresh-squeezed key lime juice, and a hint of vanilla...

Guava syrup and a splash of ginger syrup finish off the flavour, and the sweetness both.]

So...?

[personal profile] story_and_teller 2016-05-06 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Any time! [A winner is Loki! ...The clap on Clark's shoulder is just a little strong.]

Come by the bar, I'll show you how to make it... Or, hey, I bet there's a bar in here somewhere, we can borrow their stuff.

[personal profile] story_and_teller 2016-05-06 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That'd be a first.

[Even for Loki. At least, she's pretty sure she's never started a war over drinks before. She could be wrong.]

[personal profile] story_and_teller 2016-05-07 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, me neither. [Not today, anyway.] So we won't bother anyone who doesn't want us there, how's that?

Ding-ding! Right in one, Clark. [Have an approving smile. Everyone likes being recognised! Unless they're trying not to be, but then they don't wear the horns and introduce themselves as Loki.]

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-05-06 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh! Dave recognizes that face. Well, at first he thinks he does, so he takes out his device to check. Yep, that's him. Should he say something? They only texted... but being in this world alone is kinda weird, even for someone who likes lone moments like Dave.]

Decided to press the button in the end, huh?

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-05-08 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[That's how Loki got him too - he really should change that username, shouldn't he? With an embarrassed smile, he nods and offers his hand.]

David Stutler. Welcome to the multiverse.

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-05-09 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Would you stop embarrassing him, please, Clark? Dave shrugs.]

I don't know, manners? I'm not a conversation master. Still excited about this?

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-05-12 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, Smallville is an actual place? I thought your username was just like - a reference.

[Excuse the big city boy...]

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-05-12 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Kansas! Alright, that's a familiar name. [He points at himself.] New York. Capital of... whatever they're trying to sell to tourists at the moment.

Manhattan, so both. I attend NYU. [He gives Clark a look over.] ...are you still in high school?

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-05-16 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, gosh. He's so young. Well, it's not like Dave is super old either, but there's always something worrisome about dealing with minors. Time doesn't pass at home, but still...]

...this isn't going to get you in trouble with your family, is it?

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-05-20 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
I guess so. [He can't deny he's taken some stupid decisions himself, but... he still feels a little weird for having tell a boy to totally come to this alternate dimension to have fun. Then again, it's not like Tomorrow is more dangerous than your average city... right?] Soooo... you have any plans?

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-05-24 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Not a question he expects from a guy he just met, but ok.]

Ah-- I guess so?

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-05-28 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
["Weird" is a broad term, but Dave thinks it's better not to ask. He knows what is like to have something weird happening as a kid.]

Sooo you're trying to follow the weirdness road? Makes sense. Maybe they aren't clues, but I bet there has to be something useful around here that may help you at home.

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-06-02 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
[He looks around them, thinking about that question, then finally throwing his hands in the air.]

I wouldn't said now, but after being a couple of days in this place? Who knows, man. I'm getting a very "anything can happen" vibe.

[personal profile] dragonring 2016-06-07 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
I've only tried the coffee, but I won't say no t a smoothie. [He makes a gesture indicating the line.] Come on, my treat.
