The woman who smelled of wet earth and ozone didn't flinch at the sight of the wolf, though it was curious to see one in the city- and alone. But a wolf without a pack was by far not the strangest thing she'd seen here.

The blessing of Artemis wouldn't compel him to respond if he didn't want to, but there was a... sense that she would somehow understand him if he did, even if it were in the impressions of scent, sight and sound that she was used to animals responding in rather than words.
